“Emma Skipp and Friends” Variety nights

at Mr Creaton’s Coffee shop, Arrow Valley visitors centre, Redditch

Local Singer Emma Skipp who usually can be found on stage at venues such as Wembley Stadium or  The Royal Albert Hall, is looking

to raise money for local and national charities when she launches her brand new variety night ‘Emma Skipp and Friends’ at

Mr Creaton’s coffee shop, Arrow Valley visitors centre, Redditch, Worcestershire.

The first event will take place on Saturday 3rd March and further events on the first Saturday of each month thereafter.

The opening night, as well as featuring music from The Emma Skipp Band, will have a a Photography and Art Exhibition from local Artist

and Designer  Ona Haynes.  She will be exhibiting mixed media surrealism pictures on canvas.

The Photography Exhibition is provided by local photographer Nicky Haines. Nicky is the programme co-ordinator of visual arts

and media at Stratford upon Avon College. She will also be providing us with a small selection of student work over the coming

months. We are also hoping to exhibit a selection of work from Redditch NEW College students.

Andrew James and Paul Johnston, who will also be performing at the opening event.

After touring all over the UK and Ireland with bands such as The Enemy and Ocean Colour Scene, Emma, one of the UK's most

talked about female singer/song writers is looking to bring an evening of entertainment which is completely unique to anywhere

in this area.

Emma spoke to us about what inspired her to pursue this new venture:  “I had the idea a few years ago when I was out on tour.

I realised that there are plenty of comedy clubs out there, plenty of art galleries and plenty of music venues, but not a lot of

venues offering it all under one roof!  I really think that we are lacking ‘variety’ now which is a huge shame as so many people

would appreciate it!

I realised that in my phonebook alone I have a plethora of hugely talented people who deserve this unique platform, who knows,

we may even see a couple of celebrities at some of the upcoming events! We are currently talking to several well known faces

with a view to having them entertain us at Arrow Valley Lakeside. Emma has already met with the Mayor of Redditch,

Anita Clayton, who is totally enamoured with the project and will be opening the first event on March 3rd.

I will be creating the atmosphere of an ‘old school’ jazz club with half the audience seated at private candle lit tables where

they will be entertained by various musical delights. Featured over the coming months audiences are guaranteed to experience

an array of phenomenal talent, taking them on a journey through an emotive and often downright fierce musical talent, laughter

to make them ache, and awe inspiring contemplation through provocative poetry. Guests will be invited to view the artwork in

the mezzanine gallery upstairs between 7 and 8pm where they will receive a free glass of ‘bubbly’ and be entertained by a

variety of Choirs, String Ensembles, Brass Ensembles and Pianists etc  before the main event commences at 8 pm..

The Arrow Valley visitors centre is a hidden gem in the middle of suburban Redditch. Resting alongside the lake, this beautiful

venue has not yet been used for evening events and promises to enthral and captivate  all attending. The venue also provides

ample car parking, disabled facilities, a licence for alcohol, and is available for private hire.

If you are a musician, magician, an artist, a comedian, or are any type of performer or even a local charity we could raise money

for, then Emma would like to hear from you! You can contact her through her website www.emmaskipp.com

Tickets are £7, available from the centre 'Mr Creaton's Coffee shop", Arrow Valley Visitors Centre, (also known as Lake View)

Battens Drive, South Moons Moat, Redditch, B98 0LL. 01527  464008.

Future events will donate to various charities to be announced.
